Cllr Tony Galbraith

Councillor - Dale Ward

TONY was born in Hull and after spending most of his working life as a Chemistry Lecturer in London, returned to East Yorkshire with his wife, Kathleen in 2004. For more than thirty years he has been active in local politics having been a Councillor in Essex and a Town Councillor in Elloughton-cum-Brough. He was first elected as an East Riding Councillor for Dale Ward in 2007.

Tony writes, “ Since being elected, I have been involved with Planning, Education and Social Services. I am particularly pleased that, despite the economic crisis in the country, we in the East Riding have seen a Council Tax freeze but with no major cutbacks to frontline services. I am also a Town Councillor and see close liaison with local representatives as vital. I am mindful, however, that we must progress further with traffic controls and in providing improved facilities for young people.”
Tony’s hobbies include chess and astronomy, and  he is a lifelong supporter of Hull City. Both he and his wife are regulars at the K.C. stadium.
